On Friday, Samuel Roy Quinn spent hours with his mother in a nursing home after her health condition worsened.
He took his face mask that was wearing, hugged her and kissed her on her forehead. After he left the nursing home, an employee rushed after him and told him that his mother was positive for the coronavirus.
The local health officials reported that Peggy Smith, Quinn`s mother, was among the 83 residents of the nursing home that were tested positive for COVID-19.
Quinn announced that his mother, who was suffering from Alzheimer`s disease, passed away on Saturday. He added that he would not stay in the nursing home for a long time if he knew she had coronavirus. Evidence shows that residents from nursing homes are most vulnerable to the coronavirus.
